George F. Stanko

I
am extremely proud to share that George F. Stanko has joined my team as Major. 

George F. Stanko is coming home to Cecil County law enforcement. George started his impressive career as a Deputy with the Cecil County Sheriff's office working as a Deputy Sheriff / Paramedic for 5.5 years before he moved to the Newark Delaware Police Department.
 
During his career at NPD George rose from a Patrol Officer to Lieutenant in responsible for the day to day management of the agency's Criminal Investigation Division. George has also served as the SWAT Team Commander as well as acting as the Department's Special Events Coordinator.

George's commitment to public service continues when he is off duty as well. George is a life member of the Charlestown Fire Department volunteering as a Fire Fighter and Emergency Medical Technician. 

George currently holds an Associates Degree in Law Enforcement and Corrections as well as another AS in Fire Sciences Technology, both earned at Cecil College. In 2013 George completed the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police Command and Leadership Academy, a rigorous training program developed in partnership with the United State Military Academy at West Point to develop executive level Law Enforcement professionals.

George will play a key role in partnership with Gerry Widdoes and I as we move the Sheriff's Office into the future as a premier law enforcement agency.
